Nagoya University Showcases Technologies at TECH INNOVATION 2024

On 28-30 October 2024 – Nagoya University showcased its innovative technologies at TECH INNOVATION 2024, The university established a booth to present three key technologies aimed at advancing its intellectual property initiatives in Singapore and the broader Asian market.


The showcased innovations include:

  1. Oily Wastewater Treatment Technology utilizing high-performance oil-degrading microorganisms.

  2. A rapid and comprehensive analyzing technique for anthocyanins in crops using PESI/MS/MS.

  3. Freshness preservatives designed specifically for vegetables and flowers.


Professor Katsutoshi Hori, who was selected as a speaker for the TRL8 Intellectual Property conference, led the presentation on the oil wastewater treatment technology, capturing the attention of attendees and marking the day with a memorable photo at Marina Bay in Singapore. He is also the founder and inventor behind the startup Friendmicrobe.


Nagoya University extends its gratitude to Innovation Partner for Impact (IPI) for the invaluable opportunity to present its technologies and engage with audiences at TechInnovation, facilitating the university's entrance into the intellectual property realm in the region. In addition to this event, on October 29, 2024, a delegation from Nagoya University held a valuable meeting with the IPI team. This meeting introduced Nagoya University's intellectual property offerings to the Innovation Marketplace, paving the way for the university's marketing efforts in the Asian IP sector.


The meeting was led by President Professor Naoshi Sugiyama and Professor Seiichi Matsuo, Chancellor of the Tokai National Higher Education and Research System, and included representatives from the Central Japan Economic Federation, Chubu Region Institute for Social and Economic Research, and the Economic Affairs Bureau of Nagoya City.
